The Power of Prayer: Fueling The Hope Project

We are discovering more and more how crucial prayer is. We feel that prayer fuels The Hope Project. Just like a car cannot move forward without fuel, we cannot fulfill our mission without prayer.

William Wilberforce, who pioneered the end of the Atlantic slave trade, said:
“Of all things, guard against neglecting God in the secret place of prayer.”

Scripture to Guide Us

“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.”
– Jesus (John 10:10 NIV)

Daily Prayer Points

Here are some ways you can pray for The Hope Project daily:

1. Protection and Rescue of Victims

Pray that victims will experience God’s presence and be able to escape or be rescued.

“Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.”
– Psalms 23:4 (ESV)

2. Conviction for Those Who Buy and Sell Sex

Pray that they would turn from their evil ways.

“Tell them, ‘When sinful people die, it does not give me any joy. But when they turn away from their sins and live, that makes me very happy. So turn away from your sins! Change your evil ways! Why should you die, people of Israel?'”
– Ezekiel 33:11 (NIV)

3. Raising Up More Abolitionists

Pray that God would stir awareness and inspire more people to join the fight against exploitation.

“And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly, and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.”
– Micah 6:8 (NIV)

4. God’s Presence in Our Office and Among Staff

Pray for divine guidance, strength, and protection over our team and volunteers.

“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”
– Isaiah 41:10 (NIV)

5. Long-Term Partnerships

Pray that God leads us to meaningful partnerships with individuals and churches.

“I, the Lord, have called you in righteousness; I will take hold of your hand. I will keep you and make you a covenant for the people and a light for the Gentiles, to open eyes that are blind, to free captives from prison and to release from the dungeon those who sit in darkness.”
– Isaiah 42:6-7 (NIV)
