Therapy is a vital part of the healing process for survivors of trauma. At The Hope Project, Play Therapy is one of the many therapeutic approaches we use to help both children and adults begin their journey toward healing and restoration.
For both children and adults, games, toys, and creative expression allow feelings and needs to be explored in a safe and natural way. Play Therapy provides an opportunity for individuals to communicate experiences that may be difficult to express with words alone.
Each client is given the freedom to choose the form of play that feels right for them. For some, this may involve playing with toys or games. For others, it may be art or creative expression.
This choice gives clients a sense of control—something that is often lost through trauma—and helps create an atmosphere of warmth, safety, and trust. Within this supportive environment, clients can begin to explore their feelings and process the effects of trauma at their own pace.
The Hope Project exists to support the healing of girls and women who have survived sex trafficking and to prevent further cases through mentoring and education. We meet survivors where they are and walk alongside them on their journey toward restoration.
