Our mission is to support the healing of girls and women who have survived sex trafficking and to prevent further cases through mentoring and education. Through compassionate, faith-centered programs, we meet survivors where they are and walk alongside them on their journey toward healing, restoration, and hope.
Sex trafficking is the exploitation of individuals through force, fraud, or coercion for commercial sex. It can affect anyone—especially women and girls—and often goes unnoticed.
Sex trafficking occurs in cities, small towns, and online spaces. Awareness helps communities recognize that this crime can exist anywhere.
Lack of personal freedom, fear, control by others, and unexplained injuries can be signs of trafficking. Knowing the signs can help save lives.
By educating youth, families, and communities, we reduce vulnerability and empower people to protect themselves and others from exploitation.
We meet survivors of sex trafficking right where they are. With each survivor, we assess their needs and identify available resources to support their path to healing. We strive to be consistent, compassionate support so survivors can access the help they need.
Our support includes, but is not limited to:
Assistance with court appearances and appointments
Visiting or writing to survivors in jail or prison
Connecting survivors to community resources
Transportation assistance
Providing hygiene products
The Hope Project also offers:
Individual counseling
Group therapy and support groups
Recovery coaching and recovery groups
If a survivor is in need of a mentor, we connect them with our Mentor Program. We also offer a healing home, Rays of Hope, for adult female survivors.
The Mentor Program serves female survivors of sex trafficking and young women ages 11–25 who may be more vulnerable to trafficking. This program connects participants with compassionate Christian mentors who inspire hope and equip them with tools to overcome significant life challenges and achieve their goals.
The Hope Project exists to support the healing of girls and women who have survived sex trafficking and to prevent further cases through mentoring and education. We meet survivors where they are and walk alongside them on their journey toward restoration.
We value collaboration. The Hope Project founded and co-chairs the Lakeshore Human Trafficking Task Force, which meets monthly to provide a collaborative response to human trafficking in Muskegon County.
The task force includes:
Local law enforcement
Community agencies
Community activists
Survivors of human trafficking
Our goals are to:
